Rapid Re-Housing Program
Rapid Re-housing is a program designed to house homeless individuals and/or families that HUD defines as people who are living in a place not meant for human habitation, in emergency shelter, in transitional housing or an existing institution where they temporarily reside ( ex. living in streets, car or shelter). The consumers will come into the office with their valid license or ID, social security numbers of everyone that will be living inside the home, and a letter from someone that knows they are HUD defined homeless.

The client will then complete an application; the application will be submitted to a committee outside of the agency for approval. Once the consumer is approved they have 30 days to find housing. The agency will give resources such as apartment listings, landlord names and numbers and vacancy listings from HAPP. Once housing is found an inspection is done by the counselor and if the home passes inspection a lease is then signed and a copy of the lease, light deposit letter, water deposit letter and gas deposit letter if they heat or cook by gas, is submitted to the counselor for payment. The program provides case management for a year once a consumer is enrolled in the program.
